1. Introduction

Children of God Christian Coaching CIC is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all children, staff, volunteers, and visitors. This policy outlines our approach to managing health and safety across all our activities and venues.

2. Responsibilities

- The management team is responsible for implementing and maintaining this Health and Safety Policy.
- All staff and volunteers must follow health and safety procedures and report any hazards, incidents, or concerns.
- Parents and guardians will be informed of relevant health and safety measures concerning their children.

3. Risk Assessments

- Risk assessments will be carried out for all venues and planned activities to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
- Risk assessments will be reviewed regularly or whenever there is a significant change to the environment or activity.
- All staff and volunteers will be informed of relevant risk assessments before activities commence.

4. Venue Safety

- All venues used must meet health and safety standards and be appropriate for the activities conducted.
- Fire exits and procedures will be clearly marked and explained to all participants.
- Equipment will be regularly checked and maintained to ensure safety.

5. First Aid

- A first aid kit will be available at all sessions and activities.
- At least one trained first aider will be present during every session.
- Any accidents or injuries will be recorded in an incident log and reported to the designated person.
- Parents/guardians will be informed of any first aid administered to their child.

6. Emergency Procedures

- In the event of an emergency, staff and volunteers will follow the emergency response procedures outlined during training.
- Emergency contact information for all children will be kept securely and accessed as needed.
- If necessary, emergency services will be contacted immediately and parents/carers informed as soon as possible.

7. Hygiene and Infection Control

- Good hygiene practices will be maintained, including regular handwashing and cleaning of shared equipment.
- Any child showing symptoms of a contagious illness will be asked to stay home until they are well.
- Government guidance on infection prevention (e.g., COVID-19) will be followed where applicable.

8. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or when there are significant changes in legislation, organisational practice, or the nature of activities being delivered.
